||Cardinal O'Hara HS, Springfield, PA|
"Because of his academics, we believe he can pick a school," Cardinal O'Hara's head football coach, George Stratts, said of his prized runnning back. "He's a very good north-south runner with very good speed. He's a very coachable kid and he blocks well. He'll probably play a little bit of defense this year too. We'll probably make him an outside linebacker because he's so big.
"He missed 3 games last year with an MCL tear and when he came back, he was probably at the most about 75 to 80 percent. He gained 880 yards and 12 touchdowns.
"The knee is fine now. He just got done with a championship indoor track season. I think he won the triple jump."
West Virginia and Boston College are the first of many scholarship offers to come.
"Boston College was over the weekend and West Virginia was about a week ago."
Several others are very interested.
"Michigan, Notre Dame, Penn State, Syracuse, Maryland, Ohio State, Michigan State, Indiana, the list goes on."
According to Coach Stratts, Penn State coach Ron Vanderlinden has been to O'Hara to inquire about Heygood.
"He's been in a couple of times. I guess the last trip was about a month ago. Anthony's been to Penn State, for their summer camp last year."
Stratts does not believe Anthony has any favorites at this early juncture.
"Right now I think he's just in the feeling out stage."
