Barnes is a Nittany Lion

Philadelphia defensive end is the latetest to make a verbal commitment to Penn State. He did so Thursday morning.

From the time his recruitment began, most figured Philadelphia defensive end Deion Barnes would land at Penn State.

Things played out as expected when the 6-foot-4, 225-pounder announced for the Nittany Lions at Northeast High Thursday morning.

Barnes is the 14th member of Penn State's Class of 2011. He picked the Lions over Georgia, after previously eliminating Michigan and Pitt from his list of potential destinations.
