Wartman Staying in State

Standout linebacker from the Coal Region has committed to the Nittany Lions. Wartman was on campus over the weekend.

Nyeem Wartman looked right at home while attending Penn State's Lift for Life Challenge at Holuba Hall Friday.

The outside linebacker from Valley View High near Scranton, Pa., was escorted around the event by Nittany Lion 'backers coach Ron Vanderlinden, and spent significant time talking to current PSU players.

Fight On State has learned that Wartman intends to become a Nittany Lion himself now. He committed to Penn State over the weekend according to the Scranton Times, picking PSU over offers from Boston College, Florida, North Carolina State, Northwestern, Pitt and Rutgers.

"This is not only a decision I made for myself," Wartman told The Times. "I'm happy that I can do this for my family and for my mom. I really liked the fact that players at Penn State, no matter what grade they were in, went out of their way to get to know me and talk with me. They made it feel like a family."
