Mauti Tackles POG Honor

Penn State fans honor linbacker Michael Mauti as their Player of the Temple Game.

With six tackles (all unassisted) and a key interception leading to the winning touchdown, Michael Mauti was thanked by Penn State fans for his performance as they honored him as their Player of the Game.

Mauti ended up with 67 percent of the fan vote, beating out defensive end Sean Stanley who ended with 16 percent and wide receiver Derek Moye with 11 percent.

Mauti talked about his performance on Saturday saying, "We really came together as a defense, a lot of guys stepped up and made plays when we needed them."

The Fight On State Player of the game is the first and only honor given to Penn State players by Penn State fans. Voting is conducrted exclusively on after each Nittany Lion football game.
