Chambers Lands 2013 Guard

Penn State basketball coach Pat Chambers receives pledge from 2013 guard Geno Thorpe.

New Penn State basketball coach Pat Chambers is going to work on the 2013 class, receiving a commitment from 6-foot-3, 175 point guard Geno Thorpe from Shaler Area High outside Pittsburgh.

According to Scout Basketball Analyst Brian Snow, "Thorpe has good size, is a pretty good athlete, and has been impressive in summer viewings. He's not a top 100 player, but definitely someone who will be in the mix for the discussion as time goes on."

Thorpe plays for the New Jersey Playaz AAU program, which is considered among the best programs on the East Coast. Thorpe holds offers from Wisconsin. Seton Hall, Pittsburgh, Rutgers and Kansas State.
