Bill O'Brien received his first pledge as Penn State head coach from Massachusetts defensive back Jordan Lucas.

Jordan Lucas reportedly received an offer from Penn State today during an in-home visit and immediately pounced on the offer, pledging to join the Nittany Lion Class of 2012.

Lucas is a 6-foot-1, 185-pound defensive back from Worcester Academy out of Massachusetts. As Lucas explained previously, “I know a lot about Penn State,” Lucas said. “Before the coaching changes, I took an unofficial there with two of my teammates. I saw the campus and the players and the atmosphere. I liked it.”

Lucas had offers from UMass and Temple. As for the position he was recruited to play, he said, "Of course, Penn State, they want me to play safety.”

Stay tuned to for more on this breaking pledge.
