Bill O’Brien understands the importance of connecting with high school coaches. A few mere hours after he was announced as Penn State's new head coach, O'Brien took time out of his packed schedule to meet with about 40 Pennsylvania high school coaches who were on campus for the Big 33 team selection meeting.
In this spirit O'Brien is continuing the annual Penn State Football Coaches Clinic. The event will take place on March 30 and 31 on the University Park campus and feature lectures, discussions and demonstrations on a wide array of football topics, units, positions and techniques. The event will be led by O'Brien and his newly-assembled coaching staff. It will also feature sessions with Strength Program Director Craig Fitzgerald and Director of Athletic Medicine Dr. Wayne Sebastianelli.
The clinic has traditionally attracted upwards of 800 high school and youth coaches from across Pennsylvania and around the nation.
The event will kickoff at 9 am on Friday, March 30 in Holuba Hall. As part of the session coaches will be invited to observe a spring practice on Saturday, March 31.
The clinic cost is $85 per attendee and includes clinic materials, Friday’s lunch and dinner and the coaches’ Friday night social in the Ashenfelter Multi-Sport Facility.
