Hello Nittany Nation!
It's the dawn of a new tradition at Penn State and many folks will be ringing in the new season at Beaver Stadium Saturday. Usually for the early season games there are two weather threats: heat and rain. Well, I think the rain chances are quite small, which will leave us with a toasty game on Saturday.
The weather should not be a big factor as fans converge on Beaver Stadium. As you head into the stadium, keep in mind that temperatures will rise into the 80s during the game. Therefore, remember to stay hydrated and wear light-weight and light-colored clothing. Also, don't forget the sunscreen, even though there will be some clouds in the sky. In fact, those clouds will be your friend as it will feel quite hot if the sun strikes your seats in the stadium.
Bill O'Brien will have a lot on his mind for this first game, but the weather won't have to be too much in his gameplan other than the players being affected by the heat. Winds should be light, and while the chance for a shower will not be zero, the odds of it passing over the stadium will be small. There is still going to be a small chance for a shower during the postgame tailgates. Travel home should also be good with only a chance for a shower or thunderstorm, especially for those heading south.
