Head coach Bill O’Brien and about three dozen players visited Beaver Stadium Wednesday night to thank Penn State's student fans

Penn State coach Bill O'Brien and more than 30 of his players visited the student encampment "Nittanyville" outside Beaver Stadium Wednesday night.

An estimated 1,200 PSU students — a record for the encampment formerly known as "Paternoville" — began forming Monday. The 5-2 Nittany Lions face undefeated rival Ohio State at Beaver Stadium Saturday.

After throwing a couple of terrible passes in the the trash-can football area, O'Brien addressed the crowd. He thanked the students for their support, and pleaded for them to show up early and be loud for the game against the Buckeyes.

"What we really need from you on Saturday night is for you to be in your seats early and be loud," O'Brien said. "Be respectful, but be very, very loud for the whole game."

O'Brien and the players took time to pose for photos and chat with fans. In all, the visit lasted about 30 minutes.

You can see video of the visit above.
