With Wisconsin coach Bo Ryan coaching with a heavy heart following the loss of his mother Thursday, the Badgers responded with five players in double figures, including a career-high 16 points from Frank Kaminksy, to wallop Samford, 87-51, in the final nonconference tuneup.

Notes: The Badgers reached at least 9 non-conference wins for the 11th-consecutive season ... Under Ryan, UW is now 10-2 in its final non-conference game of the season ... Wisconsin limited Samford to just 51 points and has now held each of its last 16 home opponents to 60 points or less ... UW shot 52.5 percent from the field (31-59), the team’s fourth time eclipsing the 50.0 percentage mark this season ... The Badgers connected on 12-of-22 (.545) from 3-point range, their best 3-point field goal percentage of the season. UW has now shot 50.0 percent or better from long range in back-to-back games ... Senior Jared Berggren finished with 4 blocks, increasing his Big Ten lead to 25 blocks on the season and 1.92 blocks per game. Berggren now has 96 career blocks, moving him into a tie with Greg Stiemsma (2005-08) for 6th place in UW history. Berggren also scored 10 points and grabbed 9 rebounds ... Senior Ryan Evans registered his 3rd double-double of the season and the 5th of his career, finishing with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Evans’ 12 rebounds is also a new career high ... Senior Mike Bruesewitz returned to the starting lineup and responded with 13 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and a block in 25 minutes ... Sophomore Frank Kaminsky posted a career high with 16 points, his third-career game scoring in double figures. Kaminsky also tallied a career-best 4 3-pointers (4-for-4 shooting) ... Junior Ben Brust equaled a career-high with 6 assists. He also tallied 8 points and 4 rebounds.
