The Iron Lion shirt has become all the rage in Penn State football fashion.
Popularized first by Nittany Lion strength and conditioning coach Craig Fitzgerald and later by the PSU players themselves, it speaks to the fortitude and toughness that have been forged out of the recent difficult times faced by the program.
If you are in town for the Nittany Lions' Blue-White Game this weekend, you can pick up your very own official Iron Lion shirt and help a great cause at the same time. And if you time it right, you can even have Fitz himself sign your Iron Lion shirt.
The Penn State Chapter of Uplifting Athletes, which sponsors the annual Lift for Life Challenge to help fight kidney cancer, will be selling the shirts in the Blue-White Game stage area (just across from the front of the Jordan Center) starting late Friday afternoon and continuing through kickoff Saturday.
Fitzgerald is scheduled to be on hand to sign shirts from 5-6 p.m. Friday. Current and former Nittany Lions will be there during the late afternoon and evening, as well.
These are high-quality Nike Dri-Fit shirts. Adult and kids' sizes will be available. All profits will go toward the fight against kidney cancer.
It should be noted that these are the ONLY Iron Lion shirts that are officially sponsored by Penn State Uplifting Athletes. Purchase a knockoff somewhere else and it is essentially taking money away from a great cause.
Can't make it to Penn State this weekend? Contact Penn State Uplifting Athletes President Eric Shrive (firstname.lastname@example.org) to learn how you can order your official Iron Lion shirt.
