O'Brien on Post-Wisconsin Comment

The Penn State coach has some fun at his own expense while talking about what seemed to be a nationally televised F-bomb following the 2012 season-ending win against the Badgers.

Penn State closed its 2012 season with an overtime upset of Wisconsin at Beaver Stadium.

First-year Nittany Lion coach Bill O'Brien was emotional after the big win. It capped an unexpected 8-4 season for PSU, which had been hammered with NCAA sanctions stemming from the Jerry Sandusky scandal the previous summer.

After the game, ESPN2 caught up with O'Brien on the field and asked him how he was able to get the team to "focus and get this win."

He said, "They're a bunch of…"

After that, some watching heard the word "fighters."

But many other heard a profane seven-letter word that starts with "F."

At a speaking engagement in Camp Hill, Pa., Thursday — part of Penn State's two-week promotional Coaches Caravan — O'Brien had some fun talking about his post-Wisconsin comment and admitted he heard from his mother afterward.
