Despite the big game atmosphere of Beaver Stadium, UCF was not intimidated and kept its collective cool throughout the evening as the Knights dismantled Penn State 34-31. Quarterback Blake Bortles passed for 288 yards and three touchdowns and running back Storm Johnson rushed for a career-high 117 yards and a score and a touchdown catch.
Penn State got a valiant effort from running back Zach Zwinak who ran for 128 yards and a career-high three touchdowns, but he also gave up a critical fumble stagnating PSU's comeback.
Receiver Allen Robinson was once again the main man when it came to the Lion ari attack. On the day he rolled up 143 yards receiving on nine catches and scored a touchdown with a long catch of 46-yards.
Freshman QB Christian Hackenberg completed 21 of 28 passes for 262 yards and a touchdown with no interceptions. Unfortunately, the Nittany Lion defense could not trip up the Knight offense enough to allow for PSU to catch up.
On the day, UCF had over 500 yards of offense, taking risks that paid off. The UCF vicotry is its first over a Big Ten team ever.
