OVERALL: The Golden Flashes were obviously overmatched. But even though PSU's passing game was not clicking, we did not sense any post-UCF loss hangover.
OFFENSE: If Christian Hackenberg had even a decent game, the Nittany Lions would have scored 50. We're guessing he'll learn from his first off day.
DEFENSE: John Butler and company rallied the troops after struggling vs. UCF.
SPECIAL TEAMS: An “A+” for Sam Ficken. Otherwise, the play here was spotty at best. We're still trying to figure out how KSU averaged 46.5 yards on 10 punts and yet PSU only managed two returns for a total of four yards.
COACHING: We'll bet the staff itself will admit this game should not have been as close as it was through the middle of the third quarter. At the end of the day, however, a 34-0 win is a 34-0 win.
INTANGIBLES: This was another game where one never got the sense Penn State could possibly lose.
OTHER GUY: Playing at LSU and then at Penn State in back-to-back weeks probably was not the best idea.
OFFICIALS: The zebras seemed to get all of the key stuff right.
CROWD: The people who showed up -- especially those who stayed until the end -- deserve some serious props.
