#PSUvsILL: Murgo's Weather Forecast

WTAJ's chief meteorologist gives his expert opinion on the weather for Penn State's noon kickoff against the Fighting Illini.

November football games can always be iffy in Happy Valley. This year we'll be treated to three home games this month, the first of which will be iffy, but it could be a lot worse.

Cold air will be moving into the region from the Great Lakes. This means that those coming to State College from the west will have plenty of clouds along with scattered showers, though the rainfall will not be too heavy. Coming in from the east, the weather should be pleasant with some sunshine. There will be a mix of clouds and sunshine for any pregame tailgates with only the chance for a shower closer to game time. While it will be cool, it won't be too chilly for this time of the year.

As the day wears on, clouds and the chance for showers will increase. Therefore as you head into the game for the noon kickoff, you'll probably want to grab a decent jacket. While heavy rain gear is not probably going to be needed, the odds of a couple of showers during the game are high enough to bring something that is a little more resistant to such weather.

The kickoff temperature will be in the lower 50s but with any shower, the temperatures will drop into the 40s. It will be breezy during the game, which may affect kicking and passing a little, and add the chill to the fans in the stands.

Temperatures will be in the 40s for postgame tailgates. Postgame travel to the east will probably be OK with just a couple of showers. But if you are heading back to the west, you may run into some snow showers over the mountains.
