REPORTS: Franklin to be Named PSU Coach

Multiple media outlets are reporting that the Vanderbilt coach is headed to Penn State. As of early Thursday afternoon, there was no official word on the hire.

Multiple media outlets are reporting that Vanderbilt coach James Franklin is set to become the next head coach at Penn State.

FOS has yet to confirm that a deal has been signed and approved by the Penn State Board of Trustees.

However, trusted sources have told us that Franklin did sign a contract with the Nittany Lions. But is was conditional, and as of Thursday morning the deal was awaiting the approval of the Board of Trustees.

One source familiar with the process believed the final approval was a formality, as the finer details of the contract had been worked out earlier.
