New Penn State coach James Franklin and his staff are holding a huge recruiting weekend on campus this week, as they hustle to fill out the Class of 2014 before Signing Day Feb. 5.
The event has already netted its first tangible results, as three-star linebacker/safety Koa Farmer of Notre Dame High in Sherman Oaks, Calif., committed to the Nittany Lions Saturday. A source with knowledge of the situation confirmed the commit to Fight On State’s Greg Pickel.
A short while later, Farmer posted the following on Instagram:
"The journey is done! First I want to thank California-Berkeley for the great and outstanding opportunity. It has been a long and powerful journey! I am blessed to announce that I will be ending the recruiting process and attend PENN STATE UNIVERSITY were I will become DR. FARMER and fulfill my dream of becoming a P.H.D in Pathology! We Penn State are on the rise. We are going to win the Rose Bowl. We are going to win a national championship. All I can say now is #WEARE #PENNSTATE"
Farmer, who had been committed to Cal since his junior year before deciding to take other visits, is the 23rd member of PSU's class.
