Paul Cianciolo
, a big quarterback prospect from South Carolina, is at Penn State this weekend for an official visit. Is there a chance he could commit?
Name:
Paul Cianciolo
Position:
QB
Height:
6'4 1/2"
Weight:
218 pounds
40-yard dash:
4.7
School:
Dorchester Academy, St. George, SC
Cianciolo's final high school season recently came to an end.
"We got knocked out in the semis," Paul explained. "We finished up 8-6. I finished up with a little over 3,100 yards and 30 touchdown passes, 7 or 8 runs (rushing TDs) and a 60% completion percentage. I threw for 1,000 yards in the playoffs in 3 games."
Paul told LionNews on Wednesday evening that both of his parents would be joining him for his official visit to
Penn State
this weekend. Does he have any other official visits set up?
"Not definite dates, but some of the schools I told you before,
Maryland
, UConn, people like that I'll probably end up [taking an official visit to]."
Are there any other schools in the running?
"There's always people on the rise. People are calling and coming into the school every day. The in-state schools are still recruiting me, so we'll see."
Penn State assistant coach Bill Kenney, calls approximately once a week.
"He actually just left about 20 minutes ago to tell you the truth. We had a home visit here tonight (Wednesday). He was here for about 2 hours."
Is Penn State his favorite?
"They're definitely way up there."
There, of course, exists the possibility that Cianciolo could commit to Penn State during his official visit this weekend.
"You never know what could happen."
