Rutgers
,
Penn State
,
Notre Dame
and
Virginia
. Leo accompanied his parents to Penn State for a visit this past weekend. Calvin Lowry was Ferrine’s weekend host. LionNews talked to Leo Sunday night after he returned home from Penn State and got the latest on his college plans. How did the visit go?
“I liked it a lot”, said Leo who rated the visit an 8 on a scale of 1 to 10. “It was what I expected. I went there two or three other times prior to that visit. Every thing I saw I liked. I liked the visit.”
We asked Ferrine if his parents enjoyed the visit.
He responded, “They liked it. So far, both of the visits they liked. I guess if a school wines and dines you. I guess they liked it.”
What position did Penn State talk to Leo about this weekend?
“As a DB. Corner.” Some schools were looking at Leo on offense. Does he have a preference? He answered, “Not really. I like to play offense so it doesn’t really matter. I don’t really have a preference.”
Which coaches did he talk to during his visit?
“I talked to Coach Ganter. I talked to Coach Johnson. I talked to Coach Paterno, the younger one, Jay. I talked to all of them really.” Did he talk to Joe? “Yeah I talked to Joe. He’s got a lot of stories. He remembers everything.”
Leo continued, “Coach Norwood and Coach Ganter should be coming to my house either Wednesday or Thursday and that’s basically it.”
Ferrine had previously taken a visit to Rutgers. What other visits does he have planned?
“Notre Dame and Virginia on the 23rd and the 30th. “
The last time we talked to Ferrine, he told us he didn’t have a favorite and was still considering all four schools. At the time, Notre Dame had yet to offer a scholarship, but they subsequently did. Does he have a favorite now?
“I don’t have a favorite. I just go to the next visit. There’s a possibility I won’t take the last one (Virginia).” Does that make Penn State and Notre Dame his top two? “Uh-huh.”
