Illinois LB J.R. Zwierzynski

Penn State would very much like J.R. to become the next great linebacker at Penn State. Will J.R. take an official visit to Notre Dame this weekend? Is he close to making a decision?

Name: J.R. Zwierzynski
Position: RB
Height: 6'3"
Weight: 225 pounds

Will you be taking an official visit to Notre Dame this weekend?

"No," J.R. said without hesitation.

Are you finished taking official visits?

"Yeah, I think so.  I'm just ready for this all to end."

Has he reached a decision?

"No, not yet, it's between Northwestern and Penn State.

"I like Penn State and my parents like Northwestern, so we're going to have to find out who prevails.

"They like the academics and that it's closer to home (1.5 hours)."

J.R. estimated that Penn State is about 8 hours from his home.

"I like their facilities, the living arrangements, the coaches and where they're headed."

Penn State is recruiting J.R. as a linebacker, and Northwestern is looking at him to play in the offensive backfield.

J.R. estimated that he will probably make his final decision "in maybe a week or two."

Miscellaneous note:  Notre Dame offered J.R. a scholarship last week.
