A few months ago, many Nittany Lion fans were wondering what was happening with their program. They had very few verbal commitments and they were calling for Joe Paterno’s resignation. My what a difference a five–star recruit makes for a program.
Name:
Sean Lee
Position:
LB/S
Height:
6'3"
Weight:
215 pounds
40-Yard dash:
4.6 seconds
School:
Upper Saint Clair HS, Pittsburgh, PA
Ever since (11/15) the day Gateway (Pa.) star
Justin King
announced he would be attending
Penn State
, the speculation began that Upper St. Clair (Pa.) linebacker Sean Lee (6-3, 215, 4.6) would be joining him.
Thursday evening, the rumors became reality as Lee announced he would also attend Penn State. Nittany Lions head coach Joe Paterno and defensive coordinator Tom Bradley stopped by the Lee household for an in-home visit, and Lee pulled the trigger.
“I’ve been interested in Penn State for a while now, I just wanted to take a few official visits to make sure I was making the right choice,” Lee said. “I liked
Iowa
and
West Virginia
, they are great schools, I just felt like Penn State was the best fit for me.”
Bradley continues his mastery of recruiting
Western Pennsylvania
.
“Coach Bradley had the defense playing well all season long,” Lee said. “I am excited to be a part of it, I think I fit that system well.”
Lee was recently selected to the
Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
“Fabulous 22” team, he was also selected to the WPIAL Quad-North All-Conference 1st Team as a defensive back.
Lee chose the Nittany Lions over a plethora of offers including
Duke
,
Northwestern
,
Georgia Tech
, Iowa, Pittsburgh, and West
Virginia
. Lee is the Nittany Lions third verbal pledge in the past two days joining (Conn.) defensive back
Willie Harriott
, and (D.C.) wide receiver
James McDonald
.
