Perhaps no true freshman will have a greater impact on Penn State in 2005 than Kevin Kelly, PSU's incoming freshman kicker. Although the Nittany Nation has been focused on both Derrick Williams and Justin King, Kevin Kelly could be the one who provides an immediate edge to the Nittany Lions.

Fight on State recently caught up with future Nittany Lion kicker Kevin Kelly to discuss a variety of topics. Kelly was up at University Park this weekend to participate in the Pennsylvania All Star squad's Big 33 practice with future teammates Sean Lee and Knowledge Timmons.

With no veteran kickers on the squad and Pat Humes struggling through the spring, all eyes are on Kelly as the likely candidate to assume kicking duties for Penn State and help the special teams live up to their name once again for the Blue and White.

Kelly talks about the opportunity he has in front of him to earn kicking duties for the Lions with the departure of Robbie Gould. He also discusses his strengths as a kicker, when he plans to arrive at Penn State and his primary areas of improvement he is focused on this summer, among other topics.
