In what proved to be a major battle between the offensive and defensive standouts of the South Florida game, PSU running back Tony Hunt was selected by the Nittany Nation as the Fight On State Player of the Week.

With just over 32 percent of the fan vote, Tony Hunt's 15 carries for 140 yards (9.3 yards per carry) and one touchdown gave him the edge over safety Chris Harrell, who ended up with just over 31 percent of the votes.

A battle that went back and forth since the close of the game on Saturday, Hunt made a final surge in the voting late Tuesday evening, which put him over the top in the contest.

Many fans pointed specifically to Hunt's impressive 70-yard dash in the early goings of the fourth quarter, which set up Penn State's final touchdown of the game.

Congratulations to Tony Hunt on being honored with the Fight On State Player of the Week selection for South Florida, Penn State's first and only football honor given by the Nittany Nation.
