Allen played both defensive-end and offensive guard for the Red Hurricanes last season. He projects as a defensive-end at the next level.
"I played tight-end my first year, when I was in 9th grade," Allen said. "The next year, a couple of the guards got hurt so I had to move down to guard. I'm moving back to tight-end this year."
During the past 2 seasons, Allen has tallied 54 solo tackles, 85 assists, 11 sacks, 5 fumble recoveries, 4 forced fumbles and 39 hurried passes.
His efforts not only earned him 1st Team All-Conference honors, but more importantly, a few early scholarship offers.
"I got offers from Maryland and Temple. Pitt and Syracuse said they are going to offer me."
Allen listed "Penn State, Notre Dame, Boston College, Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State and Stanford" as other teams showing interest in him. He named Maryland as the team currently recruiting him the hardest.
"A coach from Pitt was at my school yesterday (Coach Junko). I talked to the coach from Maryland yesterday and a coach from West Virginia called me tonight, but I wasn't here."
Billyk visited Penn State for the Blue-White game last month and participated in the tour of the football facilities prior to the game.
"I talked with the recruiter from my area for a while, Tom Bradley."
He also attended the Nike Camp the following day.
Allen has also taken a few other visits to nearby schools.
"I went to the Pitt junior day, and I went down to Maryland for their spring game."
Does Billyk have any early favorites?
"Not really right now," he said. "I want to go visit a couple of places."
Allen's trip to State College last month was not his first.
"I went to the camp there the summer before 10th grade. I went to a Penn State game last year (Miami) and I went to a couple Pitt games (Miami and Syracuse)."
He attended a camp at Pitt last summer.
"I grew up liking Pitt and Penn State. My sister goes to Penn State."
