In addition to Penn State (where Taylor took an official visit Sept. 10) and Maryland, his top five rounds off with Tennessee, Virginia Tech and Florida. However, according to Taylor, the Nittany Lions have just a slight lead over the Terrapins.
“They're about pretty much the same, but I think Penn State is ahead a little,” Taylor said. “There are some things I like more at Penn State than Maryland. I mean, I really can't tell. It just feels different to me.”
Further, Taylor cited Penn State's need on the defensive line as another reason for his interest in the Nittany Lions. He also commented on Penn State's appearance in the Orange Bowl, where the Nittany Lions will take on Florida State.
“I think it's great,” Taylor said. “I love it. That's one of the reasons why I like them a lot.”
When asked whether he felt pressure to stay in his home state to attend college, Taylor replied, “Not at all.” He was also asked whether the commitment of Maryland prospect Aaron Maybin to Penn State and the potential commitments of other Maryland prospects like Navorro Bowman would have any effect on swaying him to the Nittany Lions.
“Not really; it's up to me as to where I want to go,” Taylor said.
