Nittany Lion Seniors Are Going Mobile

Michael Robinson

The postseason all-star game bids keep rolling in for members of the Penn State football program. Over the weekend, it was announced that four Nittany Lion seniors will play in the Senior Bowl, slated for Jan. 28 in Mobile, Ala.

FightOnState.com had previously reported that quarterback Michael Robinson, defensive end Tamba Hali and defensive back Alan Zemaitis would play in the game. Joining the trio of first-team All-Big Ten picks in Mobile will be defensive back Anwar Phillips.

While preparing for Penn State's Oct. 3 meeting with Florida State in the Orange Bow, Robinson told FOS he would be playing quarterback in the Senior Bowl. Though he was named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year at the position, some pro scouts believe he will be a better fit at running back, receiver or even defensive back in the NFL.

Hali was a consensus All-American has a senior for the Nittany Lions, when his 11 sacks paced the Big Ten.

Zemaitis was a first-team All-Conference selection and led the league with six interceptions.

Phillips started every game for Penn State in 2005 and broke up 10 passes on the season.

It was previously announced that three other Lion seniors — safety Calvin Lowry, as well as defensive linemen Scott Paxson and Matthew Rice — will play in the Jan. 21 Hula Bowl in Hawaii.
