According to the Washington Post, the Nittany Lions have added another standout from the Washington, D.C. region to it's Class of 2006 with Evan Royster.

Evan Royster, a standout running back from Chantilly, Virginia (Westfield HS) selected Penn State over Florida, Nebraska Oklahoma, Virginia and Virginia Tech. Royster told the Washington Post, "I just felt something at Penn State I didn't feel at other places."

The 6-foot-0, 190 pound, 4.45 second forty back was not only an All-Metro selection this year, but was also named the Virginia AAA Northern Region Offensive Player of the Year and Virginia's Gatorade Player of the Year.

This season he rushed for 2,161 yards and 30 TDs, averaging over 9.5 yards per carry. Over his high school career he totaled 750 rushes for 6,384 yards and 90 total touchdowns.

Royster is said to have a great combination of size and speed. In terms of strength he bench presses 315 pounds, squats 405 pounds, and power cleans 295 pounds.

Royster joins fellow District of Columbia recruits J.B. Walton, A.J. Wallace, Bani Gbadyu, Navorro Bowman, Chris Bell and Aaron Maybin in the Class of 2006.
