With Penn State's Class of 2006 already boasting a myriad of major honors and awards, it now claims the Big 33 Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year for Pennsylvania, as well.

The Big 33 recently announced its Players of the Year on both offense and defense. Both selections are members of Penn State's Class of 2006.

Offensive Player of the Year

Pat Devlin, the 6-foot-4, 200-pound quarterback from Exton, Pa., (Downingtown East HS) has been honored as the Big 33 Offensive Player of the Year.

This is another in a long line of impressive honors for the Scout four-star prospect. Aside from this Big 33 honor, Devlin was named as a Parade All-American, Class AAAA Associated Press All-State selection, the Class AAAA Player of the Year and an Elite 11 selection.

Devlin holds the all-time Pennsylvania passing yardage record with 7,447 yards and had over 75 passing touchdowns during his high school career.

Defensive Player of the Year

One of the first to pledge to PSU's Class of 2006, Tom McEowen, a 6-foot-4, 280-pound defensive tackle from Langhorne, Pa., (Neshaminy HS) is also no stranger to honors.

A three-time first-team All-League selection, McEowen was also a Courier-Times Golden first-team pick and Southeastern Pa. SOL Golden 11 selection.

McEowen is quick off the snap and has good fundamentals and footwork.

Both Devlin and McEowen are expected to play in the Big 33 Football Classic on June 17, 2006, and the Keystone State team tangles with an all-star group from Ohio.
