Paul played both linebacker and tailback for Hopewell last season.
"On defense, I had 102 tackles and I think 8 sacks," Paul said. "On offense, I rushed for a little over 1,300 yards and had 15 touchdowns.
"We play in the Parkway Conference. I was 1st Team [All-Conference] at running back and linebacker and I was named MVP of the conference. I also made the Post-Gazette Fabulous 22 West and the Tribune-Review Terrific 25 West."
Posluszny is being recruited to play linebacker in college, his preferred position.
"I prefer defense," Paul said. "I think playing linebacker is a lot more fun.
"Right now, I have offers from Pitt, Penn State, Maryland, Boston College, West Virginia, Iowa, Kansas, Wisconsin, Northwestern and Purdue."
Previously, Paul has named Pittsburgh and Penn State as his 2 favorites. It appears as though the field has widened.
"I'm not sure, I've visited several schools, so it makes it harder to name a top team. I really don't have a top team right now to be honest with you. My top 5 would have to be Pitt, Penn State, Purdue, Maryland and Northwestern.
"I've visited Pitt, Penn State, Maryland and Northwestern."
Penn State was Paul's favorite team growing up. He attended the Penn State Nike Camp in April.
"I was there to watch a game last season (the Miami game). I thought it was a great experience. I love Penn State's campus and everything. I think it's a great place. As a kid, my friends and I always tried to go to Penn State to watch games, so I've been there a couple of times actually."
Several coaches visited his school during the Spring Evaluation period. He has had the opportunity to talk with a few of the coaches.
"I call Pitt every once in a while just to check in, to see how things are going. I've called Michigan State a couple of times because we're trying to set up a visit.
"I guess I've talked to [Pitt] the most just because of how close they are, and I've gotten to know their coaches really well. Their linebacker coach, Coach Blackwell, I talk to him a lot. We exchange emails a lot and every once in a while he'll just say 'Hey, just give me a call', so I do."
Tom Bradley is recruiting Posluszny for Penn State.
"I haven't really talked to Penn State a lot. I don't think they're real interested to be honest with you. Coach Bradley came down to the school and then he called once, but that was it.
"When he called in May, he said 'we're offering you a scholarship'.
"They were always my favorite as a kid. They said they were going to offer a scholarship, but it never came so I don't know. There are a lot of other great schools out there too."
Paul, a good student, carries a 3.7 GPA. He already scored a 1110 on the SAT.
"If I can find a school that I'm comfortable with, I'll probably decide before the start of the season, but if not, I'm in no hurry."
