Despite falling behind early by 21 points, Brent Carter was instrumental in helping his All-Star squad storm back to a 38-27 win. Although he showed some versatility, pulling in some passes, it was his tough running in traffic that was the real asset to his squad.
In what ended up being a short-yardage evening for the Pottsgrove running back, Carter ended up with 43 yards on 14 carries (3.1 yards per carry). What was impressive though is that he scored three of the team's five touchdowns from one, three and four yards out.
As Carter told The Mercury, "We wanted to win, but it’s a lot of fun to come out here with everybody. There are no conceited players. Everybody is real cool. They’re laid-back type of guys. It’s real fun to be out here with them."
Carter was a Philadelphia Inquirer All-Southeastern Pa. Team selection last season and chose Penn State over Virginia, Minnesota and Boston College.
