State's senior offensive tackle is among 54 players on preliminary list for award honoring top lineman. Brown is looking to become only the second Nittany Lion to capture the honor, joining defensice tackle Mike Reid.

Penn State senior offensive tackle Levi Brown is one of 54 players across the nation to be named to the watch list for the 2006 Outland Trophy. The Outland has been awarded to college football's best offensive or defensive lineman since 1946.

Brown is the lone returning starter on Penn State's offensive line. The team captain was a second-team All-American (Associated Press) and first-team All-Big Ten pick as a junior.

No Nittany Lion offensive lineman has every won the Outland Trophy. Defensive tackle Mike Reid captured the award for Penn State in 1969.

The Football Writers Association of America picks the winner of the Outland Trophy.
