According to the team's site, the Nittany Lion legend was knocked down during practice Tuesday when two players ran into him. How is he doing after the collision? And will he be able to lead the team against Northwestern this weekend?

Penn State coach Joe Paterno has had a rough week. In the Nittany Lions' loss at Ohio State Saturday, he had to leave the field twice because he was ill. According to a report on the team site gopsf.com, Paterno was injured at practice Tuesday, as well.

On Wednesday, the following text was added to the site's “BUZZ” section:

“While discussing the previous play with another player, Coach Paterno was overrun by a tight end and safety at full speed at Tuesday's practice. Nothing was broken and he finished practice, but as expected, awoke sore today and will limit himself to team only activities for the next few days.”

Paterno, who became head coach of the Nittany Lions in 1966, turns 80 in December.

Penn State faces Northwestern at Beaver Stadium this weekend. Paterno has never missed a game due to illness or injury.
