Paternoville Closed Down
Paternoville
Paternoville

Posted Oct 5, 2006

Although the Nittany Lions are squarely focused on the Golden Gophers of Minnesota, several students have already set their sites on the October 14th clash with Michigan, over a week away, setting up their tents for the Paternoville camp out. However, university officials closed down the camp out tradition for the time being.

Although Penn State football is preparing for a clash with Minnesota currently, several students set up 15 or so tents outside Gate A of Beaver Stadium today to kick off the Paternoville camp out tradition for the Michigan game.

Established last year prior to the Ohio State game, students have been consistently camping out in front of Beaver Stadium prior to home football games in order to get front row seats and show their support for the Nittany Lions. Unfortunately for the students, today a unidentified university official showed up to the camp site and ordered the students to pack up an leave, saying that they would only be allowed to return on the Thursday prior to game day, approximately 48 hours prior to kickoff.

Although the university official made the request, the students refused to leave, at which time university police were called to the scene and threatened the students with arrest if they did not disperse at once. The students left without further incident.
