Paul Posluszny: Holding onto a one-point lead, Poslsuzny forced a fumble that led to a touchdown by Tony Davis. He had a season-high 13 tackles, which now have him at only 18 takedowns away from the all-time mark at Penn State, held by Greg Buttle.
This is Posluszny's fifth career Defensive Player of the Week accolade, which is now a Big Ten record. He was previously honored once in 2004 and three times last year to enter the season tied with Northwestern's Pat Fitzgerald, Penn State's Courtney Brown and Minnesota's Tyrone Carter with four career weekly awards.
Jeremy Kapinos: Placing four of eight punts inside the 20-yard line, Kapinos was a major weapon in the battle for field position for Penn State. He averaged 45.6 yards on his eight punts and totaled 365 yards to set the school record for career punting yards. This is his second weekly accolade this season and the fourth of his career, the second-highest total in the Big Ten records book.
