Nittany Lions travel to West Lafayette looking to improve to 2-0 in the Big Ten. The Boilermakers, who have yet to lose at home this season, have other ideas.

Records: Penn State 10-4, 1-0; Purdue 11-4, 0-1.

Coaches: Ed DeChellis is 41-61 in four seasons at Penn State and 146-154 in 11 seasons overall; Matt Painter is 20-23 in two seasons at Purdue and 45-28 in three seasons overall.

Series: Purdue leads 16-9.

Next Up: Penn State gets a bye this week before facing Indiana at home next Saturday.

Lineups:

Penn State
G Danny Morrissey, 6-3 So. (11.6)
G Mooch Jackson, 6-1 Sr. (7.4)
F Geary Claxton, 6-5 Jr. (17.9)
F Jamelle Cornley, 6-5 So. (14.1)
F Brandon Hassell, 6-11 Jr. (7.3)

Purdue
G David Teague, 6-5 Sr. (11.5)
G Chris Kramer, 6-3 Fr. (6.6)
G Keaton Grant, 6-4 Fr. (5.3)
F Carl Landry, 6-7 Sr. (19.6)
F Gordon Watt, 6-6 So. (9.4)

Notes:

• Quickie Quiz: Name the two Purdue products currently in the NBA? The answer later.

• Morrissey was an important cog in PSU's three-game winning streak. In those games he shot a combined 15 of 23 from the field and 12 of 17 (71 percent) from the arc. Such an effective outside threat should help prevent teams from doubling down on Claxton and Cornley.

• The Boilermakers have lost three of their last six after opening 8-1.

• The Lions are 2-10 all-time at Mackey but won there last season. Purdue is 9-0 at home this season.

• These teams have one common opponent to date: Georgia Tech. The Yellow Jackets ripped the Boilermakers 79-61 in the Maui Invitational and nipped the Lions in Atlanta (77-73) in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge.

• Landry missed most of last season while redshirting due to a knee injury. He had 24 points and eight rebounds in the only game between the two teams in 2005.

• Quiz Answer: Brad Miller (Sacramento) and Brian Cardinal (Memphis) are the lone remaining Boilermakers in the NBA.

FOS Prediction: Purdue 72, Penn State 67.

Comment: The Lions have yet to win on the road this season and the Boilermakers have yet to lose at home.

FOS Prediction Record: 12-2
