Catching Up With Powell

Glen Rock, Pa., defensive back/running back Chaz Powell recently wrapped up a solid senior season for Susquehannock High. "I rushed for 2,421 yards and 36 touchdowns," the 6-foot-2, 185-pounder said. "In total, I had 3,320 all-purpose yards. I also returned three kickoffs for touchdowns, including a school-record 100-yard kickoff return for a touchdown."

The career year for Chaz Powell earned him a spot in the early January Offense-Defense All-American Bowl in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Powell's squad won the game, 28-14. “I started on the punt, punt return and kickoff teams,” Powell said. “I also rotated in at safety just about every two plays.
