Virginia Beach, Va., defensive lineman Chimaeze Okoli took a visit to Penn State last weekend. On Friday, he informed the PSU staff that we wanted to become a Nittany Lion.
"I committed to Penn State," Okoli told FOS recruiting reporter Cory James. "I called Coach [Bill] Kenney and Coach [Joe] Paterno this morning. They were real excited and told me how much they wanted me, which was important because you want to go where you are wanted."
Okoli had narrowed his list to Virginia Tech and Penn State, and he was still considering Clemson earlier this week. But the 6-foot-5, 275-pounder opted to end his recruitment rather than visit the Tigers this weekend.
He is the 21st member of Penn State's Class of 2007.
Stay tuned for more on Okoli.
NOTE: Chimaeze Okoli is pronounced CHEE-MAY-ez-EE OH-COOL-EE. Most people call him CHEE-MA for short.
