Hunt was the 27th pick of the third round, the 90th selection overall and the fourth Nittany Lion to hear his name called Saturday.
Most experts projected Hunt as a late-first or second round pick. But questions about Hunt's speed apparently caused him to drop in the draft.
Hunt is Penn State's second all-time leading rusher with 3,320 yards. He is known for his powerful running style, outstanding blocking and ability to catch the ball out of the backfield.
Hunt is the first Nittany Lion to be drafted by the Eagles since they picked tight end Tony Stewart in the fifth round in 2001.
