The Philadelphia Inquirer is reporting that Pete Massaro, a 6-foot-4, 245 pound defensive lineman from Newtown Square, Pa. committed to Penn State on Monday evening. The pledge brings PSU's Class of 2008 count up to nine.

Pete Massaro reportedly became Penn State's ninth member fo the Class of 2008 on Monday when he told Joe Paterno he wanted to join his team.

Recruited by Ron Vanderlinden, Massaro grabbed 53 tackles (14 for loss) and five sacks as a junior and earned second-team Class AAA all-state honors.

When asked about the factors behind his decision, Massaro said, "I liked all the coaches. [Defensive line coach] Larry Johnson is a great teacher."
