“My coach prefers for us to take our visits after the season is over, so I wont be taking any officials until then,” Robby Green said.
Green does have a few schools in mind from his current top nine to make official visits to this winter.
“I am looking at going to visit Arizona State, Florida and Penn State,” Green said. “I haven't set up any of those visits at this point though. My favorites right now in no particular order are USC, LSU, Alabama, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Florida, Penn State, Arizona State and Michigan. I'll probably narrow that list down to five and take my official visits after the season.”
Green talked to FightOnState.com about his interest in Penn State.
“I know that Penn State has a great tradition and a great coaching staff,” Green said. “I am real cool with Coach (Brian) Norwood. I don't know too much about the place and the atmosphere up there, but I know it's a great school with great academics. I always see them in the Top 25 and they have always been a favorite school of mine since I was little.”
Green also had a brief encounter with Penn State verbal commitment Michael Mauti after John Curtis' win over Mauti's Mandeville High School.
“I talked with Mike after our game,” Green said. “He wasn't able to play because of an injury, but he was talking to me about coming up to Penn State with him and we were joking around. I really didn't know Mike before that. I knew of him and I knew that he was a great linebacker and it was a shame that he couldn't play against us. I have nothing but good words to say about Mike.”
Green's John Curtis Christian High has started the season 2-0 thus far with Green playing well, including an interception against Mandeville.
“I think I have been playing well so far,” Green said. “I have mostly just been coming up and making tackles since team's don't throw my way very often. I usually take on the best receiver of whoever we are playing.”
Green is looking forward to more success at John Curtis this fall and we look to hear more from him after his season when he starts setting foot on college campuses around the country.
