Visit for exciting win over Michigan State prompts Woodyard to pick the Nittany Lions.

The Penn State basketball team landed its second commitment for the Class of 2008 Sunday. According to various published reports, Maryland guard Cammeron Woodyard announced for the Nittany Lions.

The 6-foot-5, 195-pounder from Winters Mill High in Westminster was on hand for Penn State's upset of then-No. 7 Michigan State Feb. 2 and liked what he saw.

“It was the atmosphere that brought me there,” he told the Centre Daily Times. “It made me feel at home.”

As of this writing, Woodyard was averaging just over 20 points and five rebounds per game for Winters Mill.

Penn State landed 6-8 forward Billy Oliver of Chatham, N.J., in the early signing period. The late signing period begins April 16.

With the expected early departure of junior guard Nikola Obradovic following this season, the Lions figure to have at least two more scholarships available for the Class of 2008.
