The felony aggravated assault charge against Penn State defensive tackle Phillip Taylor was thrown out by District Judge Jonathan Grine, according to a published report. | |||

According to the Centre Daily Times, a felony charge of aggravated assault presented against Penn State defensive tackle Phillip Taylor has been thrown out. District Judge Jonathan Grine threw out the felony assault charge, but bound over lesser charges of simple assault, disorderly conduct and harassment in county court, according to the CDT. The paper said the prosecution presented a single witness; the alleged victim, who testified that Taylor punched him during an altercation at Heritage Hall on Oct. 7 during a fraternity dance. Also charged in the incident were Chris Baker and Navorro Bowman, who each face charges of aggravated assault (a felony), simple assault and harassment (misdemeanors), and disorderly conduct (summary offense). -30- |
