The Pennsylvania squad gathered in Holuba Hall on the PSU campus Sunday for its first practice. See how the future Nittany Lions looked.

The 2008 Pennsylvania Big 33 squad gathered for its first practice at Holuba Hall on the Penn State campus Sunday. Coach Jim Morgans (Parkland High) put the Keystone Staters through a morning session and then another practice in the afteroon.

As usual, FightOnState.com was on hand to check out the future Nittany Lions on the Pennsylvania roster. PSU scholarship athletes on the Pennsylvania squad include defensive lineman Pete Massaro, offensive lineman Matt Stankiewitch, two-way lineman Brandon Ware, tight end Mark Wedderburn and linebacker Mike Yancich.

All but Wedderburn were at the practice Sunday. The Pennsylvania staff was not sure why he was unable to attend.

Another Nittany Lion on the Keystone State squad is kicker David Soldner, who will be arriving at PSU as a preferred walk-on. Soldner did practice Sunday.

Sunday's sessions were conducted in helmets, shirts and shorts. There was no contact, as Morgans and his staff spent most of the time making the players familiar with the offensive and defensive schemes.

You can check out a TAP video and free photo gallery of the future Nittany Lions below. And be sure to stop by our Premium Message Board to talk about it and get more insight on the session from our staff.

This is the only practice the team will have until game week. Pennsylvania will once again face Ohio in the Big 33 Classic this year. The game is slated for June 14 in Hershey, Pa.

Stay tuned to FOS for one-on-one video interviews with the future Nittany Lions.
