On getting the guys fired up:
"I tell the guys it's an attitude you have to have. I really just try to get them excited and primed to play.
On what it means to him to be a leader:
"I've been a leader all my life. A lot of guys on this team can do it. I just take on the role and do what I do. Aaron Maybin does it. A lot of guys do it."
On the difference in his attitude after putting on the pads:
"Football is an aggressive sport. You're at war. You know your teammates have your back and you have their back."
On whether the void Norwood left puts added pressure on him:
"No not at all. There isn't added pressure. We have a lot of guys who can step in -- Deon Butler, Graham Zug -- we have guys who can step in as we need them to."
On his excitement to face Purdue:
"We're very excited at another chance to showcase our talent. We made a lot of mistakes last week. We have to get better and play our hearts out to get to where we need to be."
