LOS ANGELES — Penn State coach Joe Paterno has the most wins (383) in major-college football history. He also hold records for most bowls wins (23), bowl appearances (35) and number of different bowls won (11).
And in the Rose Bowl Jan. 1, he'll be looking to improve on all of those records when the Nittany Lions face USC.
For their part, the Trojans are looking forward to seeing the living legend up close and the challenge of facing his team in post-season action. In a press conference at the Los Angeles Downtown Marriott here Sunday, they talked about the 82-year-old coach in extremely respectful terms.
