Drug arrest last fall leads to Penn State defensive linemen being placed in a program for first-time offenders.

Penn State defensive linemen Maurice Evans and Abe Koroma were both hit with misdemeanor drug possession charges when police found a small amount of marijuana in their on-campus apartment Sept. 2.

According to sources at the Centre County Courthouse in Bellefonte, Pa., both men have agreed to enter Pennsylania's Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition (ARD) program. They will serve 12 months of probation. Upon successful completion of the program, their respective records will be cleared of the drug possession charges.

The deal was signed off on by a judge Monday morning, according to a source. Evans and Koroma were both on hand for the proceedings.

The two players were suspended from the Penn State football program for two games following the Sept. 2 incident, but both returned to be key contributors on the defense.

After the season, Evans declared for the 2009 NFL Draft, giving up his final year of eligibility with the Lions. Koroma will be a redshirt junior at PSU next fall.
