With questions about Penn State's wide receiver unit thanks to the departures of Jordan Norwood, Derrick Williams and Deon Butler to the NFL, several targets stepped up in the season-opener against Akron. But none stood out more than Derek Moye.
On the day, Moye ended up pulling in six receptions for 138 yards and a touchdown.
As a thank you, Moye received 46 percent of the hundreds of votes cast for the honor, beating out the PSU defensive line (26 percent) and Daryll Clark (24 percent).
As an aside Stupar received an impressive amount of write-in votes, topping 15 for his team-high 12 tackles on the day.
Here is a review of the voting:
The FOS Player of the Game is the first and only honor awarded to Penn State players by Penn State fans. Voting is conducted after every PSU football game exclusively on FightOnState.com.
