WTAJ chief meteorologist Joe Murgo lets you know what to expect for Saturday's matchup between the Nittany Lions and Owls at Beaver Stadium.

Penn State vs. Temple @ Beaver Stadium
Saturday, Sept. 12

Kickoff:  12:00pm

So far, the weather has been quite cooperative for the Nittany Lions and their fans. This week will be no exception to that. A large area of high pressure will settle over the region and make for some clear weather for the third game of the season. There should be no travel problems due to the weather. The morning will be cool if you decide to go for the breakfast tailgate. Temperatures will start off in the 40s, but should quickly rise to near to just above 60 before you enter the stadium and reach about 65 for kickoff. This is going to make for an interesting mix of comfort at the game. The interior corridors of the Beaver Stadium always feel a good 10 degrees cooler than the true temperature, so you may feel quite chilly upon your arrival.

During the game, temperatures will be in the middle to upper 60s, which will be quite comfortable, if not a little cool for those in the shade. With a noon game though, those shady spots will be the minority. For those sitting in the sun, it will feel much hotter and you may want to think about wearing at least a lower layer of lightweight clothing for that time in the sun. Also, don’t forget the sunscreen as temperature does not effect the strength of the sun.

Sunshine will continue to prevail for the postgame tailgates and the drive home should feature no weather problems. Hopefully the Lions will have a solid performance to build upon what should be a fantastic game.
