Penn State running back sparked a return of PSU's ground game on Saturday and Nittany Nation fans thanked him in a big way, naming him their Fight On State Player of the Temple Game.

With questions around the Penn State rushing attack, running back Evan Royster provided some answers on Saturday with 134 yards on the ground on 19 carries (7.0 YPC) and a touchdown. The standout tailback also had a long run of 33 yards on the day.

Despite some impressive performances by teammates Jeremy Boone (P), Daryll Clark (QB), Josh Hull (MLB) and Sean Lee (OLB), Royster ran away with the fan vote.

In fact, Sean Lee's 12 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss and a sack were good enough to land him Big Ten Player of the Week honors, but not the FOS honor. Perhaps, because the senior 'backer was honored with the fan award the prior week against Syracuse.

Royster ended up with a stellar 67 percent of the fan vote.

The Fight On State Player of the Game honor is the FIRST and ONLY award given to Penn State players by Penn State fans. Voting is exclusively conducted on FightOnState.com after every PSU football game.
