After an unexpected visit from Larry Johnson, Brad Bars decided that the opportunity to play at Penn State was too great to bypass. Bars grabbed 54 tackles and seven sacks to lead his team to the Tennessee Division II-AA final this season.
Bars, who committed to PSU sight-unseen, will head to Happy Valley to see his future collegiate home and meet with the coaches, including Joe Paterno.
As for what attracted Bars to pledge to the Nittany Lions on the spot, he explained, "I was attracted by the type players they have — tough."
Bars chose Penn State over opportunities at Arkansas State, Army, Navy and Georgia Southern.
